Trevor Villa Barn History

Trevor Villa Barn is set amongst seven acres of pasture land giving it an exclusive feel even though it’s a mere 250m off the A539 Ruabon to Llangollen Road, Trevor, Wrexham. When the Claybrook family moved to Trevor Villa in 1986 the barn was just that, a working barn along with outbuildings and pigsties!

Not being farmers the family quickly tidied it up, knocked down the outbuildings and for years used it as storage, mainly for logs to feed the open fires and burners in the house. It was only when the hay loft was re-floored, giving the building two floors, Janet Claybrook decided to host a very informal ‘barn party’ to celebrate the millennium.  Following this ‘one off’ party many people got in touch hoping to use the barn for various fund raising events as they were ‘‘after something a little different’’ and the rest is history.

These days the barn still maintains its charm and diversity but has many new features making it an ideal modern day venue for that special party event. During the summer months your guests can make the most of the sunshine in the orchard, along with an outdoor bar. Maximum capacity of the barn is 200 guests utilising two floors. This number can be increased with the addition of a marquee, ideal for weddings.

Until now, the Barn has been a popular choice for wedding receptions but we are happy to announce that both the building and the summer house located in the orchard have been recently been approved for use as a civil marriage venues.

Because the barn is used purely for social events, arrangements can be made for you to add your own personal touch to the decor, one or two days in advance, giving your party that special feel but allowing you to concentrate on the important matters on the day – enjoying yourself!
